Our cooker & hob installation service in Talke connects electric ovens, range cookers and induction hobs on a circuit that suits their rating. Each job is tested and certified, with no call-out charge.

Every oven and hob has a rating on its plate or in the manual. Induction hobs and range cookers often need a dedicated 32A circuit, while some smaller hobs and single ovens can run from a 13A supply. We check the rating against your existing wiring before we connect anything.
Swapping a gas or ceramic hob for induction is a common reason for upgrading the circuit. If the existing cable is too small, or there is no cooker circuit at all, we run a new one from the consumer unit and fit a cooker switch within easy reach.
We connect the electrical side of cookers and hobs, including the ignition supply on gas hobs. Any gas connection must be made by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If you are switching from gas, they will also need to cap off the old supply safely.
Send us the model numbers or ratings of your oven and hob, and we check your existing circuit and consumer unit. If the circuit is suitable, the job is a straightforward connection. If not, we quote for the new circuit and cooker switch before we book.
On the day, we isolate the circuit, connect the appliance with the right cable and outlet, and fit or check the cooker switch. We test the circuit and the appliance, make sure it heats up as it should and give you a certificate if new wiring was added.
Tell us what you need or what has gone wrong. We aim to respond the same day across Stoke-on-Trent.
We look at the job, explain what needs doing and give you a free quote before any work starts.
We finish the job, test everything we have worked on and hand over the certificate for your records.
Often, yes. Most full-size induction hobs are rated at around 7kW and need a dedicated 32A circuit. If you already have a cooker circuit of the right size, it can usually be reused. We check your wiring and the hob's rating before we quote, so there are no surprises.
Yes. Range cookers around Kidsgrove and Talke often have two ovens and a large hob, so their combined load can be high. We check the rating, confirm the circuit and cooker switch can handle it and make the connection with the right outlet plate.
Some single ovens and small hobs are made to plug into a 13A socket, and the instructions will say so. Most double ovens, range cookers and full-size induction hobs are not, and need to be hard-wired to a cooker circuit. If you are not sure, send us the model number.
We disconnect the old electric cooker or hob safely when we fit the new one. Let us know when you book if you would like us to take the old appliance away, and we will tell you whether that can be included. Gas appliances must be disconnected by a Gas Safe engineer.
