Our lighting installation service in Talke fits new lights, switches and dimmers in homes and businesses, planned around how you use each room. Every job is tested and certified.

Most rooms work best with more than one type of light. General light fills the room, task light sits over worktops and desks, and softer accent light picks out shelves, alcoves or a feature wall. Putting these on separate switches lets you change the feel of a room in seconds.
A light is only useful if the switch is where you expect it. We plan two-way switching for stairs, landings and long rooms, so you can turn lights on at one end and off at the other, and put switches at the door you actually use.
Older dimmer switches were made for filament bulbs and can make LED lights flicker or hum. We fit dimmers designed for LED loads and check the bulbs or fittings are dimmable, so the lights dim smoothly without buzzing or switching off.
We visit to see the rooms, talk about how you use them and mark where lights and switches should go. We check the existing lighting circuits, including whether they have an earth, and send you a free quote that lists every fitting and switch.
On the day, we run new cables through the ceiling space where we can, fit the lights and switches and connect them to the circuit. We test the circuit, check every light works from every switch and give you a certificate.
Tell us what you need or what has gone wrong. We aim to respond the same day across Stoke-on-Trent.

Yes. Extra lights can usually be added to the existing lighting circuit, as long as it tests safely and can take the extra fittings. We often run cables through the ceiling space to avoid damage. If a new circuit is needed, we register it with building control for you.
Usually because the dimmer was designed for older filament bulbs, or the LED bulbs are not dimmable. The dimmer may not handle the low load of LED lighting. Swapping to an LED-compatible dimmer and dimmable bulbs normally solves it, and we can check both for you.
Sometimes. Lighting circuits in homes wired before the late 1960s often have no earth, which means metal light fittings cannot be fitted safely. We test the circuit before we start. If there is no earth, we explain the options, from plastic fittings to rewiring that circuit.
