Our EICR testing in Talke checks the condition of your home's wiring and reports anything unsafe. It suits homeowners, buyers and landlords, and every quote is free.

An Electrical Installation Condition Report looks at the consumer unit, wiring, sockets, switches, light fittings, earthing and bonding. We test a sample of each circuit, or all of them if needed, and record anything that is damaged, worn or does not meet the current wiring regulations.
C1 means danger is present and needs fixing straight away. C2 means potentially dangerous, and FI means further investigation is needed. Any of these makes the report unsatisfactory. C3 is a recommended improvement and does not fail the report on its own.
Homeowners should have an EICR about every 10 years, and at a change of owner. Landlords in England must have one at least every 5 years and give a copy to tenants. If the report is unsatisfactory, the remedial work must be done within 28 days or sooner.
We book a time that suits you or your tenants and ask for access to every room, the consumer unit and any outbuildings. The power will be off for parts of the visit while circuits are tested, so it helps to save any computer work beforehand.
Testing an average home usually takes three to four hours. Afterwards, we send you the full report with every observation and its code. If anything needs fixing, we give you a separate quote for the remedial work and a certificate once it is done.
Tell us what you need or what has gone wrong. We aim to respond the same day across Stoke-on-Trent.
We look at the job, explain what needs doing and give you a free quote before any work starts.
We finish the job, test everything we have worked on and hand over the certificate for your records.
Most houses take three to four hours, depending on their size, the number of circuits and how easy it is to reach sockets and fittings. Larger homes, or homes with outbuildings and garden supplies, take longer. We tell you how long to expect when we book.
Yes. Under the private rented sector rules in England, landlords in Kidsgrove and everywhere else must have the electrics inspected and tested at least every 5 years. You must give tenants a copy of the report and fix any C1, C2 or FI items within 28 days.
We explain each fault and how serious it is, then quote for putting it right. Anything dangerous is made safe before we leave. Once the remedial work is finished and tested, you receive a certificate, which together with the original report shows the installation is now satisfactory.
It is a good idea, especially for older properties. A survey rarely tests the electrics in detail, and a rewire or new consumer unit can be a big cost. An EICR tells you the real condition of the wiring before you commit to the purchase.
